As a provider of comprehensive IT services for our firm since 2016, Daystar continues to be an important partner for us. Aside from having strong technical expertise, their team has been professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Daystar has played a key role in keeping our small business running smoothly and securely. This relationship allows us to stay focused on our own business and our clients' needs.

I worked closely with Olivia and Glen during the final days of construction on our 36-room boutique hotel. There are a lot of moving parts in the last 120 or so days of building a hotel. Within their scope, Olivia and Glen made the job seamless. Every time we decided to change something last minute, for whatever reason, they were all over it. Daystar handles everything professionally while staying calm, cool, and collected.
I look forward to working with them again on our next boutique venture.

We have had a great working relationship with the Daystar team for the past several years. They are all very knowledgeable in their specific disciplines and extremely helpful when an issue arises. They break down our IT security needs for budgetary purposes in a way that everyone can understand, which makes budget approval easier. I believe Daystar will give the same personal attention to your IT needs for small businesses, municipalities, or larger corporations. They do an excellent job, and if not for them, I would have been phished many times.

If you are looking for an IT company that is professional, courteous, responsive, and a great group of people, look no further than Daystar. We have worked with them for years and remain impressed with the service and friendliness of their employees. It feels like a partnership, not a company that only claims to partner with you. It is a company that actually partners with you. I rarely review businesses, yet I highly recommend Daystar to anyone looking for IT services in the Northeast region.

Show The Measurable Impact of Your Technology

Boards and funders expect proof that technology supports your mission. Without clear results, it becomes harder to justify IT spending or secure ongoing support for critical initiatives.

That's why Daystar will deliver performance metrics, trend analysis, and actionable recommendations in clear reports.

Our team connects your IT performance to outcomes that matter to your stakeholders.

With this data, you can demonstrate impact, build confidence, and strengthen future funding proposals. We help you show that every investment drives meaningful results.

Build a Cybersecurity Policy That Protects Your Mission

70% of non-profit leaders admit that they do not have a formal cybersecurity policy. This is usually the result of a lack of understanding of what to include in this policy, not neglect.

Daystar can help you fill that knowledge gap.

We'll help you create a cybersecurity policy tailored to your operations and regulatory requirements. Our team works with you to define clear rules, responsibilities, and security controls.

With stronger protections in place, you can reduce risks, protect sensitive data, and build stakeholder trust. We help you create a secure foundation that supports your mission.

Free Your IT Team to Focus on Strategic Projects

Small IT departments often spend their time on routine maintenance instead of advancing new initiatives.

This slows progress and limits your ability to adopt tools that improve programs and services.

So, let Daystar take on monitoring, patching, and documentation so your internal team can focus on strategic work.

Our support lightens their workload without removing their control.

With more time and resources, your IT staff can drive growth and deliver meaningful improvements. We help you shift their focus from upkeep to innovation.

FAQs About IT Services for Non-Profits

What types of IT services do non-profits need?

Non-profits often need managed IT support, cybersecurity, cloud services, data backup, and helpdesk support. These services keep systems running, protect donor and client data, and support hybrid or remote teams.

Many also need IT consulting to align technology with grant cycles and budgets.

Network monitoring and maintenance are important too, as they prevent outages that could disrupt critical programs or fundraising efforts.

We have a tight budget. Why are managed IT services worth it for non-profits?

Managed IT services help non-profits save money by reducing unexpected repair costs, downtime, and security incidents.

Instead of paying for fixes when problems occur, you pay a predictable monthly fee that covers maintenance, monitoring, and support.

This approach keeps systems reliable, lowers risk, and reduces the need for expensive emergency work.

It also frees internal staff to focus on programs rather than troubleshooting technology issues.

What cybersecurity measures are recommended for non-profits?

Non-profits should use multi-factor authentication, strong password policies, and data encryption to protect sensitive information.

Regular security awareness training helps staff avoid phishing attempts and other attacks. Firewalls, antivirus tools, and endpoint protection add layers of defense, while backup systems protect data in case of incidents.

Many non-profits also benefit from 24/7 monitoring to detect suspicious activity early and reduce the risk of operational disruptions.

When should we hire an outside IT company for our non-profit?

Hire an outside IT company when your staff lacks the time or expertise to manage complex systems, respond to issues quickly, or plan long-term strategies.

It also makes sense if downtime disrupts programs, security threats are increasing, or you need to control unpredictable IT costs.

Outsourced support provides access to experts, tools, and monitoring that many small teams cannot afford to maintain in-house.

Can non-profits get free Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace accounts?

Google offers Google Workspace for Nonprofits at no cost to eligible U.S. non-profits, with options to upgrade to discounted paid tiers for added features.

Microsoft offers Microsoft 365 Business Basic free for up to 300 users, with other plans available at about 75% off.

We can manage either platform for your organization at no extra charge, though account pricing depends on Google or Microsoft.
